Financial Auditor – Product & Methodology

About the role

Cortea is an audit‑tech startup that uses AI to automate the end‑to‑end audit process. As a Financial Auditor focused on Product & Methodology, you will translate complex audit standards into structured logic, craft AI prompts, and work closely with the engineering team in Berlin to shape the product.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in product reviews and design sessions, providing hands‑on feedback on prototypes and helping prioritise the roadmap.
• Translate ISA (UK) and international auditing standards into executable logic for the platform.
• Write, test and refine AI prompts and decision logic that drive audit workflows.
• Ensure audit documentation meets ISA (UK) 230 requirements and passes internal quality control and external review.
• Maintain auditor independence and ensure compliance with the FRC Ethical Standard and ICAEW/ACCA Code of Ethics.
• Travel regularly to the Berlin hub to collaborate in person with the product and engineering team.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of financial audit experience, preferably at a Big 4 or leading mid‑tier firm, with audit‑manager level responsibility.
• ACA (ICAEW), ACCA or equivalent chartered accountancy qualification.
• Strong interest in audit methodology and a tech‑first mindset, eager to experiment with AI and new tools.
• Ability to sketch decision trees and define clear, unambiguous process outputs.
• Native‑level English; right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship).
