Financial Controller – Construction (MEP Contractor)

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Financial Controller to join a successful MEP contracting business in Grays. The role is office‑based, requiring five days a week on site, and offers immediate interview opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all financial operations for construction projects, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance.
• Prepare month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end accounts in line with statutory requirements.
• Manage cash flow, budgeting, forecasting and cost control for the contractor.
• Liaise with project managers and senior leadership to provide financial insight.
• Support the transition from Sage 50 to Xero and COINS systems.

Required profile

• Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
• Proven experience in construction accounting, preferably within an MEP contractor.
• Ability to work on‑site five days a week.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
