Financial Controller – Drive Finance Transformation

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Financial Controller to join a £300m turnover business in Gloucester that is undergoing rapid growth and private‑equity‑driven transformation. Working closely with the Finance Director, you will rebuild reporting, tighten controls and replace complex spreadsheets with clear, reliable models.

Key responsibilities

• Re‑design and implement finance reporting packages to support fast‑paced decision‑making.
• Strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance across month‑end and year‑end processes.
• Replace over‑engineered Excel models with transparent, user‑friendly financial models.
• Prioritise work‑streams, identify urgent issues and keep the finance team focused under pressure.
• Lead and mentor the finance team, raising standards while maintaining a calm environment.

Required profile

• Qualified Financial Controller with proven hands‑on change delivery in a complex, high‑growth environment.
• Experience managing finance transformation, acquisitions or similar projects.
• Ability to work under pressure, make decisive decisions and communicate clearly.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Power BI experience (preferred).
