Financial Controller – FMCG & Beauty Wellness

About the role

The Financial Controller will support and oversee the Group's accounting and finance operations for a fast‑moving consumer goods (FMCG) and beauty‑wellness business. Working hybrid from Oxford Street, you will be hands‑on with SAP, Excel and month‑end close activities, ensuring accurate records and regulatory compliance across multiple international entities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage monthly, quarterly and annual financial close processes for several entities.
• Prepare and post accounting journals, adjustments, accruals, pre‑payments and fixed‑asset registers.
• Develop detailed month‑end and year‑end schedules using advanced Excel models.
• Lead year‑end financial statement preparation and support statutory audits.
• Maintain compliance with UK GAAP and IFRS, and ensure strong financial controls.
• Handle intercompany accounting, recharges, reconciliations and cross‑border transactions.
• Oversee payroll accounting entries and ensure UK tax compliance (VAT, PAYE, corporate tax).
• Identify and implement process improvements and automation within SAP and Excel.

Required profile

• Hands‑on finance professional comfortable executing day‑to‑day accounting tasks.
• Experience working directly in SAP and building complex Excel workbooks.
• Strong knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS and statutory reporting requirements.
• Proven ability to manage multi‑entity accounting, intercompany reconciliations and payroll accounting.
• Detail‑oriented with excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
