Financial Controller (Italian speaking)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced qualified accountant to join our Finance team in a hybrid role based in Hammersmith, London. The Financial Controller will support daily finance operations for some of Europe’s largest frozen‑food brands, including Birdseye, Aunt Bessie, Findus and Goodfella pizzas.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit indirect reporting such as VAT, Intrastat and EC Sales List.
• Lead the preparation of local statutory accounts and coordinate with outsourced service providers.
• Close the month‑end reporting cycle accurately and on time.
• Manage the end‑to‑end record‑to‑report cycle for assigned markets.
• Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, including SOX controls.
• Perform monthly ledger reconciliations and maintain a true general ledger position.
• Support Group Finance during annual and monthly accounting cycles.
• Coordinate internal and external auditor requests.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ACA).
• Fluent in Italian.
• Experience managing a team of accountants and third‑party providers.
• Proven track record of continuous improvement in accounting, close and reporting processes.
• Hands‑on approach with ability to delegate and supervise work.
