Financial Controller

About the role

As the Financial Controller at Mistral AI, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness and compliance of all accounting records and financial statements across the Group. The position is fully accounting‑focused and works closely with internal control, tax and audit teams to uphold the highest standards of financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct detailed reviews of journal entries, accruals, provisions and inter‑company transactions to ensure compliance with IFRS and French GAAP.
• Implement and enforce financial control frameworks, including segregation of duties, approval workflows and reconciliation processes.
• Act as the primary liaison with external auditors (Big 4) during statutory audits, providing timely documentation and explanations.
• Prepare audit‑ready consolidated and statutory financial statements for all Group entities.
• Collaborate with the Tax team to ensure compliance with VAT, corporate tax and payroll tax obligations.
• Review and approve balance‑sheet reconciliations, P&L analyses and variance explanations.
• Support the design and monitoring of key controls to prevent errors, fraud or misstatements.
• Provide senior leadership with accurate management reporting packages and ad‑hoc financial analyses.

Required profile

• 12 + years of professional experience in finance or accounting.
• Significant Big 4 audit experience, including statutory audits, financial due diligence and accounting reviews.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and French GAAP.
• Proven ability to work with cross‑functional teams and manage complex reporting requirements.
