Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking a qualified accountant to join Kroo Bank’s Finance team as a Financial Controller. The role will support month‑end and year‑end close, financial control activities and management reporting within a fast‑growing banking environment.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and execute month‑end and year‑end close processes.
• Prepare management and internal financial reports and respond to finance queries.
• Maintain and enhance financial control processes, including balance‑sheet reconciliations for loans, deposits, derivatives and other instruments.
• Set up accounting and control frameworks for new products and initiatives.
• Support impairment assessment, loan loss provisioning and technical accounting assessments.
• Assist with external and internal audit, as well as regulatory reporting requirements.
• Drive automation and finance transformation projects to improve reporting, reconciliations and overall efficiency.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent).
• 1‑2 years post‑qualification experience in audit or financial services, preferably within banking, fintech or a related environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with Finance, Treasury, Risk and Operations teams.
