Financial Controller

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to lead the finance function of The Method, a premium wellness brand based in Notting Hill, London. Working closely with the COO and senior leadership, you will shape finance processes, strengthen reporting, and support the company’s rapid UK and international expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, including profit & loss, balance sheet and cash‑flow statements.
• Develop and maintain financial models and forecasting tools to aid strategic decision‑making.
• Partner with operational teams to deliver commercially focused insights and analyse revenue, membership performance and profitability.
• Manage day‑to‑day bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations and cash‑flow forecasting.
• Oversee VAT returns, payroll, statutory reporting and ensure audit readiness.
• Review and improve finance systems, reporting processes and internal controls, supporting automation and KPI dashboard creation.
• Support the preparation of annual budgets, rolling forecasts and financial performance analysis.

Required profile

• Proactive and commercially curious finance professional with several years of experience in financial control and reporting.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, growth‑focused environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable business recommendations.
• Excellent communication skills for partnering with founders and senior leaders.
