Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic Financial Controller to join a fast‑growing UK design company. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will own the finance function, provide strategic insights and ensure the organisation’s financial health.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month‑end close and produce timely financial reports.
• Manage all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll.
• Prepare accurate financial statements such as balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements.
• Oversee cash‑flow management and ensure sufficient liquidity for operations.
• Develop, maintain and monitor budgets and financial forecasts.
• Implement and maintain robust internal controls.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations and other legal requirements.
• Provide financial analysis and strategic insights to senior management.
• Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies.

Required profile

• Qualified finance professional with experience in SMEs or start‑up environments.
• Commercial mindset, proactive and adaptable with a focus on efficiency.
• Comfortable interacting with senior management and willing to roll up sleeves when needed.
• Ambitious and eager to grow with the company to achieve its strategic plan.
