Financial Controller

About the role

This permanent Financial Controller position reports directly to the CFO of a fast‑growing organisation on the outskirts of Redhill, Surrey. The role is pivotal in strengthening financial control, improving reporting accuracy and building scalable finance processes to support continued growth.

Key responsibilities

• Own the month‑end close process and deliver accurate, timely management accounts.
• Lead statutory accounts preparation and manage the external audit process.
• Ensure VAT and tax compliance in partnership with external advisors.
• Oversee billing, accounts payable, credit control and payroll support functions.
• Identify and resolve operational finance process issues.
• Support cash management and short‑term cash‑flow forecasting.
• Drive improvements in finance systems, reporting and processes.
• Build scalable processes to support business growth.
• Lead, mentor and develop members of the finance team while fostering a collaborative, high‑performing culture.

Required profile

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA/C.A qualified with strong post‑qualification experience.
• Proven experience in financial control and reporting within a high‑growth environment.
• Hands‑on, pragmatic leadership style with the ability to adapt quickly.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Required skills

• Finance systems proficiency (e.g., ERP platforms).
