Financial Controller

About the role

We are looking for an experienced, commercially‑minded Financial Controller to lead the finance function at Parkside Office Professional in Slough. Reporting to senior leadership, you will own the integrity of financial reporting, cash flow, budgeting, forecasting and financial controls while driving strategic insight across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close processes and produce accurate management accounts.
• Monitor daily cash flow, maintain rolling forecasts and manage banking relationships.
• Own the annual budgeting cycle and periodic forecasting, partnering with department heads to analyse variances.
• Maintain robust financial controls, coordinate external audits and ensure compliance with tax, VAT and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and mentor the finance team, fostering a high‑performing, collaborative culture.
• Oversee Credit Control and Accounts Payable functions, reducing bad debt and ensuring timely supplier payments.
• Identify and implement process and system improvements, including automation and reporting enhancements.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant with several years of experience in a similar senior finance role.
• Strong commercial insight and the ability to translate financial data into strategic recommendations.
• Proven people‑management skills and experience leading finance teams.
