Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join a fast‑growing global business in London. The role involves leading a small finance team, both UK‑based and offshore, and driving process improvements during a period of transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead period‑end financial close activities and meet reporting deadlines.
• Review and approve accounting entries within delegated authority.
• Consolidate results from multiple business units and prepare senior stakeholder reporting packs.
• Present financial performance updates with commentary on variances and trends.
• Analyse balance‑sheet and P&L performance against budgets and forecasts.
• Mentor and develop finance team members, including offshore staff.
• Support group‑level reporting, finance transformation initiatives, and compliance activities.
• Oversee balance‑sheet reconciliations, payroll‑related entries, and audit liaison.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience managing a finance team of up to five members.
• Background in a Top‑10 accountancy firm (Big Four preferred).
• Demonstrated ability to work with offshore teams.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to communicate financial insights clearly.
