Financial Controller

About the role

Axon Moore is recruiting for a newly created Financial Controller position in Chorley. This senior finance role combines an entrepreneurial mindset with a hands‑on approach, offering the chance to shape financial processes in a fast‑growing business.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee internal controls, financial governance and core finance processes.
• Prepare and manage cash‑flow forecasts, liquidity planning and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Lead treasury management, cash‑flow monitoring and payments oversight.
• Support annual budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.
• Lead, develop and mentor a small finance team.
• Act as the finance point of contact for banks, payment providers and other external stakeholders.
• Maintain trust accounts, ensuring accuracy, compliance and governance.
• Drive continuous improvement of financial systems, processes and operational efficiencies.
• Assist with year‑end reporting, audit activities and regulatory compliance.
• Partner with the Finance Director on strategic projects, including organic growth and acquisitions.

• Proven experience in a senior finance role within a growing organisation.
