Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking a Financial Controller to join IPS Group’s finance function in Leeds. The role combines financial control, commercial finance and business partnering, giving you the chance to influence performance, improve processes and develop the finance team.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare management accounts, KPI reporting and financial analysis.
• Maintain ownership of the balance sheet and profit & loss statement.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow planning across the business.
• Provide commercial analysis and insight to senior management.
• Partner with operational stakeholders to identify risks, opportunities and improve profitability.
• Manage working capital, cash flow and debt activities.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACCA or CIMA) with post‑qualified experience.
• Strong management accounting, budgeting and forecasting background.
• Experience in a commercially focused environment with multiple revenue streams.
• Proven financial control and balance‑sheet management expertise.
• Ability to communicate financial information to non‑finance stakeholders.
• Experience managing and developing a finance team.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with accounting and ERP systems.
