Financial Controller

About the role

Chalk Hill Group is partnering with an internationally operating SME based in Winchester to find a Financial Controller. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will own the finance function, handling everything from day‑to‑day accounting to strategic financial planning for a growing global business.

Key responsibilities

• Taking ownership of the full finance function, including day‑to‑day accounting, management accounts and cash flow management.
• Producing monthly management accounts and financial reporting for the CEO and board.
• Managing VAT, payroll, credit control, reconciliations and year‑end audit processes.
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting and business planning activities.
• Overseeing intercompany accounting across the global group and improving finance processes, controls and systems.

Required profile

• Qualified or experienced finance professional (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, AAT Level 4 or equivalent).
• Proven experience managing a broad SME finance function.
• Strong technical accounting and management accounts expertise.
• Good knowledge of UK VAT, PAYE and statutory reporting requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills and the confidence to work autonomously.
