Financial Controller – Lead Finance Professional

About the role

We are seeking a senior Financial Controller to lead the finance function of a dynamic SME. Working closely with the Managing Director, you will drive financial strategy, reporting and compliance to support growth.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all financial operations including accounting, budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
• Develop and implement financial strategies to enhance profitability and support expansion.
• Prepare and present financial statements and analyses to the Board of Directors.
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and accounting standards.
• Manage cash flow, monitor liquidity and produce cash forecasts.
• Coordinate and lead the annual audit process.
• Provide financial insights to inform business decisions.
• Maintain relationships with banks, auditors and tax advisors.
• Lead, mentor and develop the finance team, fostering continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of financial regulations and accounting standards.
• Excellent analytical, strategic thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
• Outstanding communication and leadership skills.
• Proven experience in an SME environment, comfortable with multitasking.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic setting.
