Financial Controller – Manufacturing Group

About the role

The manufacturing group based in Portsmouth is seeking a Financial Controller to support its rapid growth. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for establishing robust financial controls and delivering accurate management information.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and board packs, including detailed variance analysis.
• Oversee the finance function, supervise all ledgers and maintain strong balance‑sheet controls.
• Develop and implement KPIs and cost‑analysis tools to aid strategic and commercial decisions.
• Manage the preparation and filing of statutory accounts and returns, including VAT.
• Conduct investment appraisals for projects to enhance financial performance.

Required profile

• Full accountancy qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
• Previous experience within the manufacturing sector.
• Proven track record of working as part of a senior management team and supporting commercial and strategic decision‑making.
