Financial Controller – Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking a Financial Controller to join the operations leadership team of a high‑quality manufacturing business in Preston. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller and the on‑site Managing Director, you will act as the primary financial liaison for the site, supporting strategic decision‑making and ensuring accurate financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts in line with the Group timetable.
• Develop forecasts and set the annual budget, monitoring key performance indicators.
• Apply standard costing to establish bill of materials (BOMs) and track production performance against standards.
• Manage CAPEX approval processes and oversee stock control and other working‑capital items.
• Analyse complex financial data and present clear, actionable insights to operational leaders.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (or QBE) with substantial experience in manufacturing and site accounting.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Advanced Excel proficiency, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
