Financial Controller – Manufacturing

About the role

Our client, a £68 million manufacturing business with headquarters in Winsford and production sites across Europe and Asia, is seeking a dynamic Financial Controller. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will become a key partner to the Operations and Sales Directors, helping to shape the finance function as the company targets growth over the next 3‑5 years.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and improve finance processes and procedures, including system enhancements.
• Manage month‑end close for a team of four and oversee cash‑flow management.
• Drive organisational integration, harmonisation and commercial reporting packs.
• Identify and evaluate future acquisition opportunities, conducting due‑diligence.
• Prepare budgeting, forecasting and KPI creation for sales and operations.
• Perform competitor analysis, pricing structure management and variance analysis.
• Produce management accounts, highlight variances and action points to stakeholders.
• Rationalise marketing spend through cost‑to‑return ratio analysis.
• Lead project‑management initiatives and deliver ad‑hoc reports.

Required profile

• Hands‑on finance professional with strong analytical abilities.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment and familiarity with growth‑oriented finance functions.
• Proven ability to implement new processes and work collaboratively with senior leadership.
• Comfortable reporting to the Managing Director and influencing operational decisions.
