Financial Controller – Media Agency (Hybrid)

About the role

VisionFR Ltd is partnering with a fast‑growing media agency to hire its first Financial Controller. Working closely with an experienced Finance Director, you will combine financial control, technical accounting, process improvement and business partnering in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month‑end and year‑end close processes, delivering timely and accurate financial reports.
• Maintain robust financial records, balance‑sheet reconciliations and strong internal controls.
• Oversee cash‑flow management and support ongoing cash forecasting.
• Prepare statutory accounts and liaise with external auditors throughout the annual audit.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant financial, tax and HMRC regulations.
• Post supplier invoices, reconcile statements and monitor accounts receivable to support effective credit control.
• Identify and implement finance‑process improvements, automation and system enhancements.
• Support finance‑related projects, including systems implementation and continuous process improvement.
• Assist with financial due diligence and integration activities as the business expands.
• Coach and develop junior finance team members.
• Partner with business stakeholders to provide financial insight for commercial decision‑making.
• Contribute to the adoption of new technologies, such as AI‑enabled reporting and finance automation tools.

Required profile

• Part‑qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA (or equivalent) with a clear commitment to completing the qualification.
• Current experience as an Assistant Financial Controller, Senior Management Accountant or similar, ready to step into a first Financial Controller role.
• Previous experience within a creative, media, marketing, digital or professional services environment is desirable.
