Financial Controller – Not-for-Profit (Hertfordshire)

About the role

As a Financial Controller in Hertfordshire, you will oversee day‑to‑day financial operations, ensuring smooth processes and alignment with organisational goals within the not‑for‑profit sector.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and oversee budgets, forecasts, and financial planning processes.
• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to stakeholders.
• Manage compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards.
• Supervise and support the finance team in daily operations.
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures.
• Monitor cash flow and ensure effective financial risk management.
• Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and guidance.
• Lead on audits and liaise with external auditors as needed.

Required profile

• A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
• Experience in financial management and reporting.
• Strong knowledge of financial regulations and compliance.
• Proficiency in accounting software and financial systems.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non‑financial stakeholders.
