Financial Controller – Part‑time (30 hrs/week)

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Financial Controller to join a manufacturing finance team on a part‑time basis (30 hours per week). The role will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and will be responsible for all financial reporting, cost control and inventory costing within the UK business.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month‑end close, reconciliations, management accounts and statutory reporting.
• Align UK reporting with Group standards, budgets and forecasts in partnership with the CFO.
• Manage the annual standard cost revaluation, maintaining Bills of Materials and labour routings in the D365 ERP system.
• Prepare variance reports (purchase price, production, industrial) and propose cost‑saving actions.
• Conduct monthly sales margin reviews and work with sales and purchasing managers to optimise profit and cash flow.
• Ensure compliance with UK GAAP, tax regulations and Group policies.
• Support strategic projects such as ERP upgrades, process automation and efficiency programmes.
• Assist the CFO with ad‑hoc tasks as required.

Required profile

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and statutory reporting requirements.
• Well‑organised, able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Proactive attitude towards interrogating ERP data and improving processes.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) ERP experience – preferred.
• General ERP system proficiency.
• Understanding of standard costing and variance analysis.
• UK GAAP compliance.
