Financial Controller – £75,000 per year

About the role

This senior Financial Controller position is based on‑site in Devon and offers a £75,000 annual salary. You will join a large‑scale leisure and hospitality business that has recently secured private‑equity backing and is embarking on a major transformation and refurbishment programme.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the on‑site finance team, ensuring robust processes, controls and continuous improvement.
• Produce high‑quality monthly management accounts with insightful analysis.
• Provide weekly operational reporting covering revenue and payroll performance.
• Support strategic decision‑making through strong business partnering across departments.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow to underpin growth and investment plans.
• Oversee statutory reporting, audit and compliance under UK GAAP.
• Handle treasury functions, banking relationships and funding requirements.
• Ensure accurate and efficient payroll for a large workforce.
• Assist with investor reporting and engagement with private‑equity stakeholders.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with post‑qualified experience in a Financial Controller or similar role.
• Commercial mindset with the confidence to influence senior leadership.
• Ability to translate financial data into clear business insight.
• Experience in a fast‑paced, operational environment, preferably within multi‑site leisure or hospitality.
