Financial Controller – £80-£90k base salary

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join a high‑growth boutique professional services firm in London. Reporting directly to the Directors and working alongside the Shareholders, you will lead the finance function and provide critical financial insight to support strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day finance operations, including ledger maintenance, month‑end reconciliations and accurate recording of all transactions.
• Oversee tax compliance – sales tax, withholding tax, corporate tax filings and dual‑taxation matters across relevant jurisdictions.
• Coordinate regulatory reporting to the FCA and other authorities, and maintain shareholder/director registers and dividend documentation.
• Prepare monthly directors’ packs with management accounts, commentary and cash‑flow forecasts within agreed deadlines.
• Support business planning, forecasting and the production of annual budgets.
• Lead a Senior Finance Officer and drive a commercial finance service aligned with the firm’s entrepreneurial culture.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with several years of experience in financial control.
• Proven ability to work closely with senior leadership and influence strategic decisions.
• Strong understanding of UK tax legislation, FCA reporting requirements and corporate governance.
• Excellent analytical mindset with a focus on delivering accurate, timely financial information.
