Financial Planning & Analysis Manager – Manufacturing

About the role

An established UK manufacturing business is seeking a Financial Planning & Analysis Manager to join its finance team. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will combine financial reporting with FP&A activities, providing senior management with accurate data and strategic insight to drive business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate monthly management accounts and deliver insightful performance analysis.
• Produce detailed financial reports and commentary for senior stakeholders.
• Support the preparation of annual statutory accounts and year‑end processes.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies and internal controls.
• Assist in the delivery of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts and long‑term financial plans.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Sales and Engineering to improve forecast accuracy.
• Build and maintain financial models to support commercial decision‑making.
• Analyse margins, operational costs, revenue trends and working‑capital performance.
• Provide reports and analysis for cash‑flow forecasting and investment appraisals.
• Identify opportunities to enhance reporting processes and improve efficiency.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant or finalist (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
• Experience in a fast‑paced finance environment with tight deadlines.
• Strong financial reporting and management accounting background.
• Exposure to budgeting, forecasting and other FP&A activities.
• Experience in manufacturing, engineering or industrial sectors is advantageous.
• Proven track record of improving financial processes and reporting accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
