Financial Reporting Assistant Manager

About the role

We are partnering with a boutique accounting and financial reporting firm based near Reading, seeking an Assistant Manager to join their growing team of specialists. The role offers a mix of technical challenges across audit‑related projects and the chance to develop strong client relationships while enjoying a better work‑life balance.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver share‑based payment accounting, listed company accounts, consolidation rebuilds and acquisition accounting for a diverse client base.
• Build and maintain sustainable relationships with clients, acting as an extension of their finance teams.
• Coach and delegate work to junior team members, including trainees.
• Lead complex, judgement‑heavy engagements and produce high‑quality technical documentation.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities within the practice.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
• Strong practical experience with IFRS and UK GAAP, preferably from a Top 10/20 accounting firm.
• Proven track record of managing client projects from planning through completion.
• Demonstrated ability to build meaningful internal and external relationships.
• Experience in coaching and delegating to junior staff.
