Financial Risk Manager

About the role

A leading InsureTech organisation is seeking a Financial Risk Manager on a permanent basis. The role provides second‑line oversight of pricing, underwriting, reserving and broader insurance risk activities, working closely with senior stakeholders to embed a proactive risk culture.

Key responsibilities

• Provide second‑line oversight and challenge across pricing, underwriting and broader insurance risk activities.
• Review models, portfolio performance and risk exposure to ensure risks remain within appetite.
• Partner with underwriting, pricing, actuarial and finance teams to deliver commercial risk insight and challenge.
• Support governance, regulatory oversight and senior stakeholder reporting.
• Contribute second‑line input into new products, pricing model changes and underwriting decisions.

Required profile

• Strong General Insurance experience across pricing, actuarial, modelling or insurance risk.
• Previous second‑line oversight or Risk Management experience.
• Experience reviewing and challenging models, assumptions and methodologies.
• Strong understanding of FCA, PRA, Solvency UK and Consumer Duty expectations.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and manage upwards.
