Fine Art HGV Class 2 Driver & Technician

About the role

Freightserve is seeking a dedicated Fine Art HGV Class 2 Driver / Technician to join its specialist freight forwarding team in London. The role combines professional driving of HGV 2 vehicles with careful handling, packing, installation and de‑installation of valuable artworks.

Key responsibilities

• Drive and operate HGV 2 vehicles to transport fine art between locations.
• Pack, unpack, install and de‑install artworks safely and according to client specifications.
• Oversee loading, securing and unloading of artworks, ensuring proper handling and protection.
• Complete all required paperwork accurately, including consignment notes and timesheets.
• Perform mandatory vehicle checks in line with VOSA regulations before and after journeys.

Required profile

• Valid HGV Class 2 licence.
• Professional attitude when interacting with clients and handling high‑value items.
• Flexibility to work varied hours as directed by the Operations Manager, with overtime paid.

Required skills

• HGV Class 2 driving and vehicle operation.
• Fine‑art handling, packing and installation techniques.
• Vehicle inspection and compliance with VOSA standards.
