Finishing Supervisor

About the role

The Finishing Supervisor will lead the delivery of internal finishing works on a high‑quality residential scheme with a ground‑floor commercial unit on the outskirts of Cambridge. This temporary, full‑time position suits candidates with a strong fit‑out background who can coordinate multiple trades, maintain quality standards and drive works to successful completion.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate all internal finishing activities, ensuring safety, programme adherence and top‑quality outcomes.
• Manage subcontractors across trades such as drylining, decorating, flooring, carpentry, ceilings, kitchen installations and final fit‑out packages.
• Conduct regular quality inspections, snagging reviews and compliance checks against drawings and specifications.
• Identify and resolve on‑site issues affecting finishing trades, escalating when necessary to protect the programme and quality.
• Monitor progress, manage trade interfaces and address delays to meet key completion milestones.
• Support the Project Manager with planning and sequencing of internal works for efficient delivery and smooth handovers.
• Maintain high health‑and‑safety standards, delivering toolbox talks and site inspections.
• Coordinate close‑out activities, including snagging, defect resolution and preparation for practical completion and handover.

Required profile

• SMSTS/SSSTS certification (preferred but not essential).
• CSCS card (preferred but not essential).
