Fire Alarm Service Engineer – Static Site (Kent)

About the role

Johnson Controls is seeking a Fire Alarm Service Engineer for a static on‑site position at a major facility in Ashford, Kent. You will be responsible for the servicing, preventative maintenance and fault‑finding of fire detection, gas suppression and passive fire protection systems while interacting daily with the client.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine servicing and preventative maintenance of conventional and addressable fire alarm systems.
• Diagnose faults and carry out remedial works on site‑wide fire detection, gas suppression and mechanical fire protection equipment.
• Ensure compliance with strict site safety and operational protocols.
• Provide clear communication with the client and advise on system upgrades or remedial actions.
• Act as a role model for best practice in service delivery, quality and safety.

Required profile

• Strong experience with fire alarm systems.
• Willingness to develop expertise in gas suppression technologies.
• Ability to work on‑site and interact professionally with clients.
• Commitment to health, safety and quality standards.

Required skills

• Conventional fire detection and alarm systems.
• Addressable fire detection and alarm systems.
• Networked fire alarm systems with graphical interfaces.
• Gas extinguishing systems (Argonite, CO₂, Inergen, Novec).
• Mechanical fire suppression equipment.
