Fire and Flood Technician

About the role

We are seeking a Fire and Flood Technician to join a leading restoration business based in Nelson, North West England. The role involves responding to fire‑ and water‑damaged properties, carrying out restoration work and ensuring safe, professional service for customers.

Key responsibilities

• Attend fire‑damaged sites to remove carbon deposits, clean contents and restore structures.
• Attend flood‑damaged sites to extract standing water, strip affected materials and install drying equipment.
• Develop and monitor drying programmes and ensure proper packing and storage of contents.
• Carry out notifiable non‑licensed asbestos removal following ARCA training.
• Maintain accurate records and liaise with customers in a respectful manner.

Required profile

• Full, clean driving licence (company vehicle may be required).
• Willingness to travel and occasional overnight stays (max one per fortnight).
• Flexibility to attend rare weekend call‑outs.
• Professional attitude when working in customers’ homes or businesses.

Required skills

• Fire damage restoration techniques.
• Flood damage restoration techniques.
• Operation of drying equipment and monitoring programmes.
• ARCA‑accredited asbestos awareness and removal.
