Fire Safety Project Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Fire Safety Project Manager to lead a major fire safety improvement programme across a large acute NHS hospital estate in London. The role will ensure statutory compliance, protect patients and staff, and maintain operational resilience while coordinating with estates, clinical and executive teams.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, develop and deliver fire compliance projects across a complex hospital portfolio.
• Manage remedial actions from Fire Risk Assessments, including compartmentation surveys, intrusive inspections and passive fire protection works.
• Oversee programmes for fire door replacement, fire stopping, fire damper and fire alarm upgrades.
• Control project budgets, risk registers, governance processes and reporting requirements.
• Produce business cases, specifications, procurement documentation and tender submissions.
• Ensure adherence to NHS Firecode guidance, HTM 05‑01/05‑02/05‑03, the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and the Building Safety Act 2022.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with operational, clinical and executive stakeholders.

Required profile

• Significant experience delivering fire compliance projects within NHS or other healthcare environments.
• Strong knowledge of HTM 05‑01, HTM 05‑02 and HTM 05‑03.
• Proven project management experience in occupied or live operational settings.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and contractor management abilities.
• Relevant degree (e.g., Building Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering) and project management qualification.
