Fire & Security Engineer (Commercial & Domestic)

About the role

We are seeking a Fire & Security Engineer to deliver installation, maintenance and repair services for fire alarms, emergency lighting, CCTV and door entry systems across commercial and domestic properties in Manchester. The role is initially temporary (3‑6 months) with the possibility of becoming permanent, and includes out‑of‑hours on‑call duties.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair fire alarm, emergency lighting, CCTV and door entry systems to BAFE standards.
• Perform fault finding, diagnosis and corrective actions on all systems.
• Produce accurate risk assessments and method statements for each job.
• Maintain company vehicle and stock of equipment.
• Participate in the emergency out‑of‑hours rota.

Required profile

• Proven experience installing and maintaining fire alarms, emergency lighting, CCTV and door entry systems.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Electrical qualification (e.g., 18th Edition, NVQ or City & Guilds) – desirable.
