Fire Service & Maintenance Engineer – Social Housing

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Fire Service & Maintenance Engineer to join a dynamic team delivering essential safety services to the social housing sector. You will be responsible for the upkeep, fault‑finding and repair of life‑safety systems across a variety of sites, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Service, maintain, fault‑find, install and commission fire alarm systems (analogue addressable & conventional).
• Maintain Automatic Opening Vents (AOVs), CCTV, access control and warden call systems.
• Inspect, test and service fire extinguishers and emergency lighting equipment.
• Produce accurate service and maintenance reports and record system faults.
• Manage van stock levels and coordinate replenishment.
• Promote a strong health & safety culture and report risks.

Required profile

• Reliable, detail‑focused with a commitment to high safety standards.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Proven experience working with fire alarm systems.

Required skills

• Fire alarm systems (analogue addressable & conventional).
• Automatic Opening Vents (AOVs).
• CCTV and access control systems.
• Warden call systems and fire extinguishers.
• Emergency lighting maintenance.
• Knowledge of BS5839 Part 1 and Part 6.
• FIA training or equivalent (BS5839‑1 Fundamentals).
