Fixed Wire Test Engineer – Electrical Testing & Inspection

About the role

PHS Compliance is seeking an experienced Fixed Wire Test Engineer to join its growing team in Baldock. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality electrical testing and inspection services to a diverse portfolio of UK and Irish business customers.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out Inspecting & Testing of customer electrical installations (EICRs) on site.
• Perform emergency lighting testing, fire alarm inspections, mains analysis and thermal imaging surveys.
• Complete small remedial electrical repairs as required.
• Produce accurate reports and certifications using the company’s cloud‑based software and ensure timely submission.
• Maintain testing equipment, PDA, laptop and uniform in good condition.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds 2360/2330 Part 1 & 2 (or equivalent) and City & Guilds 18th Edition qualification.
• City & Guilds 2391/2394/2395 and AM2 certification.
• Full UK driving licence (6 points or less) and IPAF 3a & 3b licence.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week, including evening/twilight shifts.
• Good IT literacy and understanding of UK Health & Safety Regulations.
