Fleet Manager - Logistics & Distribution

About the role

Do you have experience within logistics, transport, parcel delivery or fleet management and enjoy finding practical solutions to keep an operation moving? Heels to Wheels, a growing logistics business providing last‑mile delivery services for Amazon and other major parcel carriers, is seeking a proactive and organised Fleet Manager to oversee day‑to‑day management of its commercial vehicle fleet from its Purfleet headquarters.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day availability and condition of the company vehicle fleet.
• Coordinate vehicle servicing, maintenance, repairs and inspections.
• Ensure vehicles remain roadworthy, compliant and ready for daily operations.
• Carry out regular site visits to monitor fleet condition and support local operational teams.
• Conduct or coordinate vehicle inspections and condition checks.
• Monitor, record and manage vehicle damage and repair schedules.
• Manage vehicle breakdowns and arrange replacement vehicles where required.
• Liaise with garages, leasing companies, insurers, recovery providers and other suppliers.
• Maintain accurate fleet, maintenance and compliance records.
• Monitor fleet costs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce unnecessary expenditure.
• Support drivers with vehicle‑related issues and promote high standards of vehicle care.
• Work closely with Operations Managers to minimise vehicle downtime.
