Fleet Optimisation Engineer

About the role

Airbus is seeking a Fleet Optimisation Engineer to join its Brize Norton site in Carterton, Oxfordshire. The role supports the UK Ministry of Defence contract, providing 24/7 airworthiness support for the Royal Air Force A400M fleet. The engineer will act as the main contact for retrofit activities and long‑term AOG recoveries, ensuring seamless coordination across multiple stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate resolution and integration of aircraft‑related issues across engineering, maintenance and operations teams.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all retrofit projects on the UK A400M fleet.
• Represent the PtM function during long‑term AOG recovery events and manage daily escalations with the Pt145 AOG team.
• Conduct technical assessments and develop solutions for unexpected operational events.
• Maintain continuous service delivery to meet MOD requirements for 24/7 fleet availability.

Required profile

• Eligible for, or able to obtain, UK Ministry of Defence security clearance.
• Experience working within ITAR and Export Control environments.
• Strong background in aircraft fleet optimisation, maintenance or related engineering disciplines.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of A400M aircraft systems and retrofit processes.
• Familiarity with AOG (Aircraft on Ground) recovery procedures.
