Flexible Children's Residential Support Worker

About the role
We are seeking adaptable, compassionate professionals to provide temporary, flexible support to children and young people with complex needs in residential care settings across Brighton and surrounding areas. The role offers a variety of shift patterns, allowing you to build a schedule that fits your lifestyle while making a meaningful difference.
Key responsibilities
- Establish a stable, welcoming environment where residents feel safe and supported.
- Mentor young people through daily routines, encouraging independence and life‑skill development.
- Manage challenging behaviours using trauma‑informed, calm de‑escalation techniques.
- Deliver holistic care by following individualized care plans, ensuring safeguarding and emotional wellbeing.
Required profile
- Proven experience working with children or young people with complex needs or challenging behaviours in a residential care setting.
- Full UK driving licence and reliable vehicle for travel between care homes.
- Flexibility to work various shift patterns, including day shifts, long days with sleep‑ins, waking nights, or block bookings.
