Food Technician – Part‑time (Term Time)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Food Technician to join our Design & Technology team on a part‑time, term‑time basis. You will ensure practical classrooms are safe, clean, and well‑managed, supporting teachers to deliver high‑quality lessons.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the highest standards of hygiene and food safety, including daily and deep cleaning of ovens, hobs, work surfaces, and equipment.
• Manage allergen awareness, ensuring pupils' food allergies, intolerances, and dietary requirements are strictly controlled.
• Oversee the food department budget, handling ordering, purchasing, and preparation of ingredients while minimizing waste.
• Prepare and set out ingredients and equipment for Food Technology lessons.

Required profile

• Highly organized, proactive, and able to work independently.
• Meticulous attention to hygiene, food safety, and allergen control.
• Experience managing budgets, stock, or resources.
• Comfortable maintaining a tidy, safe, and efficient practical workspace.
• Sympathetic to the supportive, high‑achieving ethos of a secondary school environment.
