Food Technician – Secondary School (Full‑time/Contract)

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Food Technician to support the delivery of Food Technology lessons across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 in an Outstanding secondary school in Kensington and Chelsea. This position offers a temporary‑to‑permanent, full‑time contract and provides hands‑on experience in a vibrant educational environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teaching staff in preparing and delivering practical Food Technology lessons.
• Set up and maintain kitchen equipment and workstations under the direction of the Senior Food Technician or teacher.
• Ensure health and safety standards are consistently applied in the kitchen.
• Clean, tidy and organise equipment before and after lessons.
• Provide occasional support to pupils during practical sessions.

Required profile

• Relevant food preparation or kitchen experience.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong health‑and‑safety awareness.
• Willingness to obtain an Enhanced DBS check (or already holding one).
• Passionate, hardworking and able to work effectively in a school setting.
