Food Technology Teacher

About the role

An outstanding secondary school in Central London is seeking a passionate Food Technology Teacher to join its Design & Technology faculty. The role starts in September 2026 and is full‑time, delivering engaging lessons to KS3‑KS4 pupils.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver creative Food Technology lessons covering both theory and practical cooking skills.
• Inspire students to understand nutrition, healthy living and food safety.
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with senior leadership and department colleagues to maintain high standards.
• Utilise modern kitchen facilities and equipment to enhance learning.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) in Food Technology.
• Strong subject knowledge in Food & Nutrition.
• Ability to motivate and maintain high classroom standards.
• Suitable for experienced teachers as well as early‑career teachers with a flair for creativity.

Required skills

• Expertise in practical food preparation techniques.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations for kitchen environments.
• Effective classroom management and lesson planning.
