Food Technology Teacher (Secondary School)

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Food Technology Teacher to join a specialist secondary school in Hillingdon from September 2026. The role involves teaching students aged 11‑19, many of whom have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and fostering practical cookery, nutrition and food safety skills.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, hands‑on Food Technology lessons for Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Develop students' practical cookery, nutrition knowledge and food safety awareness.
• Maintain effective classroom and behaviour management.
• Support pupils with additional needs, promoting confidence and independence.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching Food Technology at KS3 and KS4 (KS5 experience desirable).
• Passion for practical food education and ability to inspire creativity.
• Commitment to supporting young people with SEMH needs.
