Forensic Accountant – Interim (3 months)

About the role

We are seeking a Forensic Accountant on an interim basis (initially 3 months) to join our client’s finance team in East Hertfordshire. The role is fully office‑based and requires immediate availability to support a range of investigative accounting tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Review payments from seven bank accounts covering the last 18 months to confirm correct authorisation.
• Audit master data changes over the same period to ensure data integrity.
• Examine segregation of duties (SODs) and accounts receivable balances for accuracy.
• Sample and verify all transactions from the past 18 months, ensuring proper authorisation.
• Provide cover for additional financial duties as required.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified accountant.
• Minimum 5 years post‑qualification experience, preferably in audit or forensic accounting for large corporations.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills across all organisational levels.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
• Experience with Sage 200 or SAP financial systems.
