Forest Craftsperson

About the role

Forestry England is seeking a Forest Craftsperson to support the beat forester in managing and enhancing our national forests. You will carry out a variety of operational tasks and inspections, helping to shape the land we manage while promoting a strong health and safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the beat forester with day‑to‑day forest operations and land‑shaping activities.
• Conduct routine inspections and practical tasks across the forest estate.
• Identify and address practical matters that arise during field work.
• Champion the organisation’s health and safety values, ensuring a safe working environment.

Required profile

• Willingness to work onsite at the North District sub‑office in Kielder.
• Commitment to a fixed‑term contract until March 2029, with potential extension.
• Ability to work 37 hours per week and adhere to health and safety standards.
