Forklift Driver / Warehouse and Yard Operative

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Forklift Driver to join our well‑established freight forwarding agency in Abingdon. You will work within a dedicated team to ensure safe and efficient loading, unloading and yard movements for a variety of vehicle types.

Key responsibilities

• Operate Counterbalance and Reach forklifts, focusing on safety and efficiency.
• Prepare double‑deck, straight‑frame and rigid vehicles for loading and unloading.
• Move pallets and other materials around the yard, maintaining order and cleanliness.
• Use hand‑held scanners to track consignments within the depot.
• Carry out daily safety checks on forklifts and adhere to driver regulations and H&S standards.
• Report any issues, damages or complaints to the Line Manager and liaise with the operations team.

Required profile

• Minimum two years’ experience operating Counterbalance and Reach forklifts.
• Proven ability to handle various vehicle types in a warehouse environment.
• Strong team player with good communication skills.
• Commitment to high safety and cleanliness standards.
