Forklift Operator – Heathrow Cargo Handling

About the role

We are seeking a Forklift Operator to join a leading ground handling company at London Heathrow Airport. The role involves operating a counter‑balance forklift within a busy cargo warehouse, supporting airline partners on a rotating 4‑on‑4‑off shift pattern that includes both day and night shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Load and unload vehicles carrying various cargo using a forklift and other mechanical equipment.
• Perform manual handling tasks and operate hand‑held devices to locate and identify cargo.
• Process paperwork in line with client requirements.
• Assist in breaking down and building Unit Load Devices (ULDs) such as PAGs, PMCs and AKEs.
• Inspect incoming cargo for discrepancies, damage or other concerns.

Required profile

• Valid counter‑balance forklift licence.
• Commitment to health and safety standards.
• Previous warehouse or cargo handling experience (desirable).
• Willingness to undergo pre‑employment checks, including a five‑year employment/education history and DBS check.

Required skills

What we offer

• Competitive salary of £32,000‑£33,000 per year.
• Full‑time permanent contract.
• Shift pattern of 4 days on, 4 days off with day (06:30‑18:30) and night (18:30‑06:30) rotations.
