Forward Deployed Engineer – Agentic Platform (UK Public Sector)

About the role

This role offers a unique opportunity to shape how enterprises harness AI in real‑world applications. As a bridge between Cohere’s North platform and client engineering teams, you will design, build, and deploy agentic workflows powered by large language models for high‑impact sectors such as finance, healthcare, and telecommunications.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with enterprise customers to translate ambiguous business problems into well‑defined agentic workflows with clear success criteria.
• Design, build, and deliver LLM‑powered agents that reason, plan, and act across tools, APIs, and sensitive data sources, ensuring enterprise‑grade reliability.
• Develop features for the North AI workspace platform across the full product lifecycle, from concept to production.
• Own end‑to‑end use‑case scoping, shaping, and delivery, flexing into any technical area required, including frontend.
• Contribute to shared frameworks and patterns that enable consistent, high‑quality delivery across teams.
• Travel up to 20–40% to work on‑site with customers and partners.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience building and deploying production‑grade software in Python.
• Experience building and deploying high‑performant RAG and agentic applications using patterns such as ReAct or Plan‑and‑Execute.
• Deep familiarity with the LLM stack, including frontier models, vector databases, and orchestration frameworks.
• Proven ability to create robust evaluation frameworks for agent accuracy, safety, and latency.
• Strong track record of working directly with enterprise customers and translating business needs into technical specifications.
• Ability to thrive in fast‑paced, ambiguous environments and manage shifting priorities.
