Founding Member of Technical Staff

About the role

Sampura Research is an AI safety non‑profit building scalable oversight for frontier models. As a Founding Member of Technical Staff you will shape both research and engineering directions, leading end‑to‑end projects that advance human+AI judge protocols.

Key responsibilities

• Design and run diverse, high‑quality evaluations for judge protocols, using static datasets and dynamic RL settings.
• Research and implement novel methods such as learning‑to‑defer, AI‑assisted human rating, and co‑training of LLM judges.
• Build and maintain large‑scale evaluation, training pipelines, a human rating platform, and a public leaderboard.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong Python engineering experience with large collaborative codebases and modern ML stacks (LLM inference APIs, PyTorch/JAX).
• Hands‑on experience training and evaluating large language models, including dataset critique and quantitative analysis.
• Proven ability to tackle open‑ended research questions with rigor in academic or industry settings.
