Foundry Operative – Rotating Shifts, Temp‑to‑Perm

About the role

Acorn by Synergie is seeking experienced Foundry Operatives to join a leading manufacturing business in South Molton. The role involves supporting casting operations on a rotating shift pattern, with the potential to move from a temporary to a permanent position. You will receive ongoing training and develop specialist manufacturing skills.

Key responsibilities

• Remove shell material from moulds after casting and prepare moulds using water blasting and finishing processes.
• Operate manual and semi‑automatic band saws to trim, finish and rework castings to specification.
• Dry‑blast components to achieve a consistent finish and safely handle hot moulds.
• Pack, label and prepare products for further processing while carrying out quality inspections and identifying defects.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment and collaborate with colleagues to meet production targets.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, foundry or industrial environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to follow work instructions, production procedures and interpret routing cards.
• Positive attitude and effective teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Manual and semi‑automatic band saw operation.
• Water blasting and dry blasting techniques.
• Quality inspection and defect identification.
