Foyer Manager

About the role

The Foyer Manager will lead the delivery of a high‑quality, Ofsted‑regulated accommodation service for young people in Blackburn. Working closely with the Head of Young Persons Services, you will ensure the service meets safeguarding, compliance and performance targets while providing a safe, supportive home environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day management of the foyer, including staff supervision, recruitment and performance monitoring.
• Maintain Ofsted compliance and ensure the service is inspection‑ready at all times.
• Manage rental income, monitor arrears and secure appropriate funding for the foyer.
• Develop and update policies and procedures in partnership with senior leadership.
• Build and maintain partnerships with external agencies to enhance service delivery.
• Cover the foyer rota (8 am‑8 pm, Monday‑Friday, occasional Saturdays) and provide support to other youth schemes as needed.

Required profile

• Proven track record in managing youth accommodation or similar social‑care services.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding standards and Ofsted expectations.
• Experience in housing management, including arrears monitoring and income maximisation.
• Ability to remain calm in difficult situations and implement service improvements.
